Former US Cardinal Pleads Not Guilty To Sexual Abuse
(Dedham, Massachusetts) - Former Roman Catholic Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, 91, the once-powerful American prelate who was expelled from the priesthood for sexual abuse, has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy during a wedding reception in Massachusetts nearly 50 years ago. He is the only US Catholic cardinal to ever be criminally charged with child sex crimes.
