(Moscow) - A Russian draft law that would ban doctors from performing gender reassignment surgery on transgender patients has passed the country's lower house.
The bill is the latest in the spate of the laws cracking down on LGBTQ+ rights. The lower house, known as the State Duma, unanimously voted yes to the draft bill. Earlier legislation has been used to stop gay pride marches and detain activists.
